Lessons from Toy Story

Ok … here’s a little note to all of us who are ‘adult-ing’.

Sometimes we need to return to the beauty and simplicity of some of the best kid’s movies ever made, in order to learn and be reminded of some of life’s most beautiful lessons.

The ending of Toy Story 3 where Andy passes his beloved toys to Bonnie is a powerful moment that illustrates the importance of shared memories and the emotional bonds we form with stories and characters over time.

Your Shared Story Experiences

Ever been to a cinema event that was a special occasion and where you and the audience experienced something really remarkable together?

Maybe your shared story experience is when you went to see a movie with a group of friends and all had that ONE shared experience together.

Sometimes people dress up, sometimes it's a midnight screening, sometimes it involves a meal together and a moment to linger with each other.

To get you REALLY thinking about this, consider some of history’s most memorable shared story experience moments in cinema…

Sharing Stories Can Be Profound Moments

It can come with some unexpected surprises like…

👫 Shared memories - something that you can all look back on, laugh about and discuss. Something that created a bond.

😊 Emotional connection - joy, sadness, excitement .. . even fear. These emotional connections can bring us closer to people. They can bond us even stronger when we have that same shared emotional experience

💬 Opportunities for discussion and reflection - a chance to express your thoughts and opinions. This exchange of ideas can often foster a deeper understanding of each other … and that’s a great outcome.

No Matter What Way You Look At It...

...a shared story experience is a very special moment and can bring us into deeper friendships, meaningful community and more joy in our lives.

And let's not forget about the potential to create significant friendships as well.

As you can no doubt assume by now, we LOVE shared story experiences. We’re busy working out simple and meaningful ways for YOU and your community to gather around stories where and when YOU want.

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Wonder Events. Coming soon!

Just before we go …

if you’re in a ‘discovery’ kind of space, you might like to take a look at these two feature films. Both take us into the world of homelessness in quite profound ways.

Princess of the Row - Executive produced by Morgan Freeman, the inspiring tale of a runaway foster child who will stop at nothing to live with the only family she knows: her homeless, mentally-ill veteran father who lives on the streets of LA’s skid row.
Same Kind Of Different As Me - Successful art dealer Ron Hall  and his wife Debbie seemingly have the perfect life. But when their faith and family are tested, an unlikely bond with a homeless drifter leads them on a remarkable journey that forges an everlasting friendship.
